This Journal archive project was conceived and managed by photographic historian and The Society’s Director-General Dr Michael Pritchard FRPS. It has been supported by the National Media Museum, in particular, Colin Harding, curator of photography and photographic technology. The project was approved by The Society’s 2011-2013 Council under the Presidency of Roy Robertson HonFRPS. Townsweb Archiving has undertaken the scanning and web interface.

The project was financed through the generosity of an anonymous Society member to whom The Society would like to express its gratitude. The project would not have been realised without this support.

The Society has plans to digitise its other publications including The Years Photography (1923-1961), exhibition catalogues (1854 and on-going) and its minute books and archives (dating from 1853).
